THE SONGWRITING WORKSHOP Using his guitar, Jim assists the students in creating
their own song and in the process teaches them about songwriting.
The children choose their own topic and with Jim's help, write
the lyrics. When the song is completed, Jim records the class
singing the song on cassette, which they can keep and copy as
they wish. At the end of the session all the classes gather in
the gym and perform the song for the other participating classes.
This is a perfect chance for the children to discuss important
topics such as CONFLICT IN THE SCHOOLYARD or the ENVIRONMENT.
THE SCHOOLSONG WRITING WORKSHOP This workshop is an extension of the SONGWRITING
WORKSHOP. Jim comes to the school and with a group of students
chosen by the staff composes a school song. He then returns to
his home recording studio where he records the instrumental background
for the song. Returning to the school on yet another day with
his recording equipment, Jim then records a different group of
children (20 students) singing the song. He then burns the CD
and packages it in a jewel case complete with the school logo,
title, the names of the participating students and lyrics on the
CD insert. The school can then purchase the CDs and sell them
to the students and staff either at cost or as a fund raiser.

and puppeteer he has a unique perspective on the inner workings
of this exciting business. Using a 15 minute "behind the
scenes" video, Jim describes the various careers that are
available. He also discusses the process of creating a television
script from the outline stage through to the finished programme
ready to "air". Bundle 2 shows/workshops together and get a better price. To enquire or book a performance call 905-668-3434 or Email Jim.
